This is a big announcement for us.

Over the past few years we have been struggling with what we want Tapity to be.

We have done a bit of client work here and there to support the development of apps like Grades, Languages, and Hours but we never really embraced services as a core part of our business. You wouldn’t know from our website that we did client work at all!

After a lot of thought, we have decided to stop fighting it and embrace who we are. Tapity is:

1. An indie app company

We have set out to build not just great apps, but great app-based businesses. We have made tremendous progress with Hours and we hope that we can turn it into a very significant business over the next few years.

2. A boutique app consultancy

In the past, we have hesitated to fully embrace and build up a client business because we were afraid that it could distract us from our own products. But our experience has taught us that our client business and our product business actually complement each other. Crafting our own products gives us a unique depth of understanding that we bring to our clients. Doing client work gives us a breadth of experience that helps us make better products.

Client work gives us the opportunity to work with the most innovative entrepreneurs and companies on the planet to build apps that we could not have built on our own.

3. A teaching company

We are super passionate about teaching. We’ve written articles and books and we are about to release a brand new App Making online course. Making apps is hard, so we want to do our part to share what we’ve learned.

Will Hours and the other apps go away? No way! We are working to grow our team to where they will move forward faster than ever, and that is the whole point.

Is pushing both our own apps and client work hard? Yes, but we’ve had some success doing it already and we will be working with some incredible people to help us take it to the next level.

So, bottom line? We are open for business. Check out the new Tapity.com and please get in touch if you or anyone you know would like to work with us to build some amazing apps.
